Who are we?

The Western Biosecurity team are committed to protecting the environment and our primary producers’ livelihoods through the management of feral and other pest species.

Feral animals can wreak havoc on local ecosystems and have typically been introduced into new environments by humans, either intentionally or unintentionally. These animals can quickly outcompete native species for resources, disrupt natural food webs, and cause widespread ecological damage.

Additionally, feral animals can also pose a threat to human health and safety, as they may carry disease. To protect the environment from the negative impacts of feral animals, it is crucial to implement effective control measures.
